Getting Started

Welcome to SocialHalwa — the social media tool made for creators and SMBs. This guide will get you from sign-up to your first scheduled post in under 10 minutes.

Step 1 — Create your account

Go to socialhalwa.com/sign-in and sign in with your Google account. A workspace is created automatically for you — think of a workspace as your brand's home base on SocialHalwa.

Step 2 — Connect your social accounts

SocialHalwa supports Instagram and LinkedIn at launch (WhatsApp Business coming soon).

Connect Instagram

  1. Go to Settings → Accounts in the left sidebar.
  2. Click Connect Instagram.
  3. You'll be redirected to Meta — log in with the Facebook account that manages your Instagram Business or Creator profile.
  4. Grant the requested permissions (content publishing, insights).
  5. You'll be redirected back and your Instagram account will appear as Connected.

Important: Your Instagram must be a Business or Creator account — personal accounts cannot publish via the API. You can switch in the Instagram app under Settings → Account → Switch to Professional Account (it's free).

Connect LinkedIn

  1. Go to Settings → Accounts.
  2. Click Connect LinkedIn.
  3. Log in with your LinkedIn credentials and approve the permissions.
  4. SocialHalwa supports both personal profiles and company pages you administer.

Step 3 — Set up your brand kit

Your brand kit stores the information the AI composer uses to write captions that actually sound like you.

  1. Go to Settings → Brand Kit.
  2. Upload your logo (PNG or SVG, used in reports).
  3. Add your brand voice — a short description of your tone. For example: "Friendly and helpful, mix of English and Hindi, avoid jargon, use relatable examples from everyday Indian life."
  4. Set your default language register — choose from English, Hinglish, Hindi, or any of 8 regional Indian languages.

The AI composer reads your brand voice and register every time it generates a caption.

Step 4 — Create your first post

  1. Click + New post in the top nav or on the calendar.
  2. Select your account (Instagram or LinkedIn) and post type (Feed post, Carousel, Text post, etc.).
  3. Write your caption — or click the AI Composer sparkle button to generate one.
  4. Upload your image or video.
  5. Choose Post now or pick a date and time to schedule.
  6. Hit Publish or Schedule.

That's it — your post is queued. SocialHalwa checks every 5 minutes and publishes posts when their scheduled time arrives.
